December2007 Newsletter
2007 has continued to be a growth year for GMR Solutions . We have been working to introduce new test capabilities to increase our ability to provide a comprehensive service list to our customers. In addition to this we've added more international partners in an effort to cover specialist services required in our regions.
We've Expanded our Service Offering
We've added a multitude of new sercives to increase our ability to serve the diverse portfolio of customers we currently enjoy. The addition of these services was planned for late 2007, however, due to increased demand we've stepped up the implementation date to right now! Some of the services we've added include:
- Medical device package testing.
- Environmental test service expansion.
- Reliability Demonstration Testing (RDT)/ Accelerated Life Testing (ALT).
- Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
- Environmental Stress Screening (ESS).
- Failure Reporting And Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS)
Coming Soon... New Reliability Training Courses
Over the coming months we'll be adding a specialized training section to our website. The new training courses will be provided by international partners and will be presented by some of the worlds premier reliabilty gurus.
Coming Soon... IC Package Testing Service
Our IC Testing service is slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2007. All testing will be conducted in Singapore through GMR Solutions, with the following tests being offered initially. Note that the following links open the application JEDEC PDF standard (50kb-200kb).
New Lansmont Low Cost Recorder: 3M Series
Lansmont announces the release of the 3M30 and 3M30+ Monitoring Devices. With a footprint of less than 9 square inches, these instruments represent the most affordable performance monitoring devices on the market. Each instrument is equipped with an internal triaxial accelerometer, capable of recording threshold triggered full-waveform events.
Both instruments utilize internal rechargeable batteries, providing up to 30 days of continuous measurement, while only storing the most significant events safely and securely in non volatile memory. These instruments operate on the SAVER platform, allowing all programming, analysis, and reporting to be performed using Lansmont's powerful SaverXware application.
- USB connectivity for communication, battery charge, and instrument power for continuous, non-interrupted installations.Individual LED Alarm indicators for Shock, Temperature, Humidity, and Pressure (see instrument specifications).
- Program, analyze, and report using Lansmont SaverXware application.
- Identify most severe events and assess liability.
- Use externally captured GPS data to identify location of event occurrence.
- Audit transport carriers and monitor their performance.
- Small footprint and envelope allows embedding as part of product and/or package for continuous measurement.

New Lansmont 9x30 Upgrade!
Lansmont's top of the line performance Measurement Device just became even more powerful. When you need to know everything that occurred, as it occurred, and where it occurred, the 9X30 with embedded GPS provides significantly more utility than any instrument on the market.
In addition to nine accelerometer channels, and internal temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure sensors, customers can now select optional embedded GPS technology. No external power required; just connect your antenna and start collecting powerful data with the most impressive instrument per cubic centimeter available.

International Applied Reliability Symposium 2007
GMR Solutions's Singapore branch (GMR Solutions) has been chosen to deliver a presentation on HALT & HASS to the International Applied Reliability Symposium - Asia Pacific, in Singapore later this year. A total of 17 presenters from around the world will be on hand to deliver expert knowledge to attendees.
The symposiums theme is "Sharing applications, success stories and lessons learned in reliability and maintainability engineering."
The topic of the presentation will be "Introduction to HALT & HASS, and comparisons to the real world". This presentation will outline the basic concepts of HALT & HASS and provide detailed failure examples, along with comparisons of the vibration characteristics of a HALT chamber table to those experienced in the transport environment.
The ARS 2007 will be held on the 25th-26th October 2007 at the Orchard hotel in Singapore. For more information on the Asia Pacific IARS please visit the IARS Asia Pacific website.
